Search Engine Algorithms – Keywords

Keywords on your web page, keywords in your code, keywords in the links within and pointing to your website.

A keyword is a word or phrase describing your website. Everything that users enter into the Google search box is considered as keyword or keyword phrases.

Let’s start with Funnel Effect. Funnel Effect is essential in creating content that helps your site rank for specific keywords.

How To Use The Funnel Effect

The Funnel Effect took its name from the fact that it tends to use a broad range of keywords, which narrow down to a main one in a keyword research of a funnel.

It is a technique leading to thematic linking (a clever way to say that all content on your site should be relevant to what your site does) and which should be employed on your site if:

- You are active in a field of online commerce which has a lot of competition and in which to simply “bludgeon” search engines with SEO keywork research would be pointless.

- If your budget and time are limited, you need to create the strongest possible impact with what you can invest.

In order to employ the funnel effect in your keyword research successfully, what you need to do is create pages of content. Using the list which you have so carefully research earlier decide which of the keywords which you credited with a 7- 3 value keywords you are going to use and create two, three or more pages employing them in the text. Link those pages to a page where you use one or two of the keywords which you credited with an 2- 1value. Make sure that those pages also link back to the pages that link to them in return. It is easy and effective in creating what is, essentially, a mini-web of interlinked pages with related keywords each pointing to the others. This helps boost the value with which search engines view these pages and the website in which they are in. It gradually begins to gain what SEO engineers call in their parlance “SEO juice”.

Six Steps To Select Keywords

1. Identify The General Topic

Firstly, you should identify the content of your site in general terms of what your site is about. Then, you need to start your keyword research.

2. Identify Appropriate Keywords

Define keywords related to your topic by using the Google Keyword Tool at: KeywordToolExternal. This keyword research tool provides you an estimate of monthly keyword search volume across Google network of websites.

3. Enter The Keyword

Results are sorted by search volumes. The result list contains all of the related search terms as well as corresponding keyword research volumes. These are the number of searches using that keywords performed during a given month throughout the Overture network.

4. Select Two Or Three Keyword Phrases To Research Further

Choose a few keyword phrases in your list that represent your website. Notice that these phrases have a keyword research volume of at least 1,000 monthly searches. As you know, the more searches on a given keyword, the more competitive it may be.
